Britney Spears is one lucky mother.
Especially because the "Stronger" singer had the chance to reunite with her 18-year-old son Jayden James Federline at her home in Los Angeles, according to multiple outlets.
Jayden and his older brother Sean Preston Federline, 19, have been living in Hawaii with their father and Britney's ex-husband Kevin Federline since relocating there alongside stepmom Victoria Prince and their two half sisters in 2023. As Kevin's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan explained to People at the time, "The boys are ready to get away from the L.A. microscope."
But amid the teens' estrangement with their mom, the attorney noted the duo were hoping to eventually have a relationship with Britney.
"Reconciliations and the reunification of relationships are difficult and take time," Kevin's attorney told Entertainment Tonight in June. "They are sometimes complicated and always a lengthy process. The process has not really commenced, let alone [been] completed."
He added, "The good thing is that the boys saw their mom was doing well and have a desire to speak with her. There has been some telephonic communication between Britney and her sons, and we think that is a step in the right direction."
Prior to their move, Jayden had been candid about what his relationship with Britney, whose 13-year conservatorship came to an end in 2021, was like. As he explained in a 2022 ITV documentary, he and Sean have "no hate" towards their mom, but that it would "take a lot of time and effort" to mend their relationship.
"I 100 percent think this can be fixed," Jayden stressed. "It's just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again."
But as he noted, living with their dad was a "safe place" that allowed them to "process all the emotional trauma" the siblings had endured growing up in the spotlight.
Over the years, Britney—who divorced Kevin after three years of marriage in 2007—herself has reflected on motherhood, most recently sharing her disbelief over the fact that both of her boys are now adults.
"This month is my boys' birthdays," the 42-year-old posted on Instagram in September, alongside throwback photos with her sons. "Happy Birthday babies and I hope you get all your wishes and more !!!"
